Chef Santiago Guzzetti
A native of Argentina who was inspired by his Sicilian grandmother to pursue culinary arts professionally, Chef Santiago brings passion, ambition, and culinary excellence to the table. After culinary school, he gained experience at some of New York’s most famous restaurants including the luxury, five-star Baccarat Hotel and Restaurant Jean-George under Michelin-Star & James Beard Award-Winning Chef Gabriel Kreuther. In addition to his valuable experience in New York City, Chef Santiago honed his skills in his native country of Argentina as well as Spain at other cutting-edge establishments. Now, he’s a well-traveled, Michelin-trained chef with extensive experience utilizing Italian, French, and Appalachian techniques. In addition to being our preferred catering partner at Castle Ladyhawke, Chef Santi co-owns the award-winning Italian restaurant ILDA, Meatballs Pizzeria, and Santè: The Wine Bar in Sylva with his wife, Crystal. His versatility and creativity even helped make him a Food Network star with a recent appearance on “Beat Bobby Flay”.
Chef Johannes Klapdohr
Hailing from a family deeply rooted in the culinary traditions of Germany, Chef Johannes Klapdohr’s gastronomic journey was ignited within the walls of his family’s hotel. Embarking on his culinary journey through a 1982 apprenticeship, Johannes quickly became the youngest finalist in Germany’s esteemed “Rudolf Achenbach Preis,” foreshadowing his illustrious career. His culinary talents soon blossomed in iconic establishments such as the Relais & Chateau Hotel Bareiss and Munich’s legendary Restaurant Aubergine under Eckard Witzigmann. From Berlin’s Schloss Glienicke to orchestrating culinary excellence at Nikolai’s Roof during the Atlanta Olympics, Johannes eventually ascended to the helm of five-star and AAA five-diamond The Lodge at Sea Island. One of his greatest achievements came with the co-founding of the esteemed Old Edwards Inn in 2009, which garnered global acclaim and soon became a Relais & Chateau property under his guidance. Now the co-owner of Library Kitchen & Bar in Sapphire, NC, Chef Johannes combines culinary finesse with bespoke catering, crafting personalized menus to delight our couples and their guests.
