Castle Session Recap: May Edition

Our first Castle Session was one for the books!

On May 12th, 2021, Castle Ladyhawke opened it’s doors and welcomed all ticket holders to our first Castle Session! Our host Matt Stillwell, Master of Story, helped create an extraordinary and unforgettable experience for members and guests of Bear Lake Reserve. Our featured artists are only revealed to attendees the week before the event, and this month’s artists were a fantastic start to this year’s castle sessions!

Featured Artists: Heidi Newfield and Matt King

Heidi Newfield is described as “a good-timing, honky-tonkin’, band-leading, song-writing, love-song singing, blues-harp-blowing, tradition-nurturing, genre-busting, crowd-carrying, full-hearted flag bearer for all that’s true about music.” She has recorded three albums and charted eight singles while branching out her first solo project with a platinum-certified smash hit, “Johnny & June.” A Northern California native, Castle Ladyhawke loved hosting her in Western North Carolina!

Matt King joined Newfield at Castle Ladyhawke with songs that are described to be so achingly true to life, they may make you want to cry, ball up your fists, or burn something down. Maybe all three! He’s an American country singer-songwriter who was born and raised just an hour down the road from Castle Ladyhawke in Asheville, North Carolina. We were thrilled to invite this artist to our venue!

An Evening of Music, Cocktails, and Appetizers

A night isn’t complete without dream-worthy cocktails and mouth-watering appetizers! Chef Santiago of ILDA in Sylva joined us for the night and created appetizers that were almost too beautiful to enjoy.

Heading up the cocktails of the night were featured Mixologists from Dark Moon that is also located in downtown Sylva.

Couldn’t make it to our May Castle Session? No worries- mark your calendar for June 16th for our next one! Tickets are available here. Stayed tuned to see who our next surprise artists are!
